Denischuk is tied for second in the nation with 17 home runs in 2006, and she leads the Retrievers in most offensive categories, including home runs, RBI (65), hits (58), total bases (116) and slugging percentage (.943). She is hitting .472 and has reached base at a .553 clip, ranking among the leaders in the America East in both categories.

The 25 finalists for the Player of the Year award represent 18 colleges and seven Division-I conferences. Denischuk is one of seven juniors among the top 25.
On May 10, a list of 10 finalists will be named. On May 31 the list will be cut to three and those final three players will travel to
announcement of the winner at the 2006 NCAA Women's College World Series.
