The UMBC softball team is coached by fifth year skipper Joe French.  French has over a .600 winning percentage in his 12-year collegiate career coaching, including a .562 winning percentage over the last four years at UMBC.  French returns 13 of 18 letterwinners for a year ago and has six newcomers on the Retriever squad this year.
