PAIRINGS FOR UMBC SOFTBALL SPRING TOURNAMENTS ANNOUNCED

UMBC Head Softball Coach Joe French has announced the pairings for the three 
spring softball tournaments hosted by the Retrievers. UMBC will be hosting the 
Kick-off Classic on Friday through Sunday, March 4-6, 2005. The teams entered are 
Coppin State, Iona, Quinnipiac, Morgan State, and America East rival Vermont.   
 
On the following weekend, the Retrievers will host the 3rd Annual UMBC Spring 
Classic, scheduled for Friday through Sunday, March 11-13, 2005.  Teams competing 
are St. Francis (PA), St. Francis (NY), UMES, Niagara, and Delaware State.
 
The third tournament is the Dawg Pound Easter Invitational, to be held Thursday 
through Saturday, March 24-26, 2005. The teams included are Canisius, Binghamton, 
Sacred Heart, Liberty, and Niagara.
 
All three tournaments will be in the round robin format, with the champion being the 
team with the best overall record in five games. All games will be played at the UMBC 
Softball Stadium.
