2011 Notes: UMBC’s career strikeout leader with 636… Also ranks among the Retrievers’ all-time leaders in nearly every other pitching category, including second in wins (48), innings pitched (575.2), games started (83) and appearances (113), third in complete games (57), fourth in saves (4) and opponent batting average (.222), sixth in shutouts (9) and ninth in ERA (2.54).

2010: Posted a 12-12 record with a 2.98 ERA… Struck out 202 batters, the second-most ever by a Retriever in a single season… Also ranked among UMBC’s all-time single-season leaders with 35 appearances (3rd), 166.2 innings pitched (6th) and 25 starts (T-6th)… Pitched 15 complete games with three shutouts… Posted double-digit strikeouts three times and struck out seven or more 18 times… Ranked third in the America East in opponent batting average (.225), innings pitched, strikeouts, appearances and games started and tied for fourth in wins… Committed just one error in 37 chances… Selected to the all-tournament team at the season-opening Campus Suites Spartan Classic (Feb. 19-21) after going 2-1 with 19 strikeouts and a 1.29 ERA in three games, including two starts… Blanked Liberty on four hits while striking out seven (Feb. 20)… Named to the UMBC Retriever Classic all-tournament team after posting two wins and a 2.76 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 12.2 innings of work and holding opponents to a .170 batting average… Struck out 13 and did not allow an earned run in a complete game win over George Washington (March 11)… Picked up her 500th career strikeout on March 20 against Delaware… After dropping her first start of the season, won her next seven decisions from Feb. 20-March 19… Allowed just one run while striking out 12 in a complete game victory over Binghamton (April 2)… Struck out a career-high 15 batters in a one-hit shutout of Coppin State (April 7)… Picked up her 600th career strikeout on April 18 against Boston University, when she fanned eight in 4.2 innings of relief work… Also tossed a one-hit shutout with eight strikeouts in the first game of the Albany doubleheader (May 8).

2009: Broke UMBC single-season records in wins (22), innings (245.0), starts (35), appearances (44), strikeouts (293) and complete games (30)… Also tied the mark for saves (3)… Posted four shutouts, tied for the sixth-most ever by a Retriever in a season… Held opponents to a .213 average, tied for the ninth-lowest mark in school history… Posted a 22-16 record with a 2.20 ERA… Led the America East in strikeouts, innings pitched, starts and appearances and ranked second in wins and saves, third in strikeouts per game (8.37), fourth in opponent batting average, fifth in hits allowed per game (5.54) and sixth in ERA… Struck out 114 America East batters, also a league best, while picking up eight victories, tied for fourth-most… Ranked 19th in the NCAA in strikeouts, 26th in saves, 33rd in strikeouts per seven innings and 43rd in wins… Named co-Pitcher of the Tournament at the UMBC Dawg Pound Tournament after going 2-1 with a 2.21 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 19.0 innings while holding opponents to a .197 average (March 6-8)… Struck out a career-high 12 batters against Marist (March 6)… Tossed a two-hit shutout against Big East foe Seton Hall, striking out 11 (March 7)… Tabbed Most Outstanding Pitcher of the UMBC Retriever Classic (March 14-15)… Named America East Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 15 after going 3-0 and allowing just five runs in 23.0 innings with three complete games and 26 strikeouts against six walks… Tabbed co-Most Outstanding Pitcher of the UMBC Spring Classic after going 3-1 with a 2.45 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 20.0 innings (March 20-22)… Picked up her first career save with a perfect inning against Siena (March 20)… Struck out 12 and walked just one while allowing three hits in a complete-game win over St. Francis (March 20)… Pitched her second shutout of the season in the second game of the Maine doubleheader, striking out nine and allowing four hits (March 29)… Followed that performance with a one-hit shutout of Morgan State, striking out eight – including the 300th of her career – and walking two (April 2)… Struck out 17 batters in 10.1 innings in the Binghamton doubleheader, including tying her career high with 12 whiffs in the nightcap… Picked up two wins and struck out 19 – including her 200th of the season – in 11.1 innings against Bucknell (April 14)… Allowed one run on two hits and fanned 11 in a complete-game win at Binghamton, her school-record 20th victory of the season (April 22)… Fanned her 400th career batter in the second game of the Stony Brook doubleheader (April 25)… Named America East Pitcher of the Week for the final week of the season after tossing a pair of complete-game shutouts against Hartford (May 2), allowing just three hits and striking out 19 in 11 innings to send UMBC to its fourth straight berth in the America East Championship… Broke UMBC’s career strikeout record against the Hawks… Named team co-MVP… Recognized on the America East Honor Roll.

2008: Named to the America East All-Rookie Team after going 14-13 with a team-best 2.60 ERA and a UMBC freshman-record 141 strikeouts in 164.0 innings… Made 34 appearances in the circle, including 23 starts… Pitched 12 complete games and two shutouts… Ranked second in the America East in appearances, third in innings pitched and strikeouts, fifth in wins, sixth in opponent batting average (.231) and seventh in ERA and starts… Her 14 wins are tied for the 10th-most ever by a Retriever in a single season and are the fourth-most by a Retriever freshman, while her 34 appearances rank second all-time, her 141 strikeouts rank third, her 164.0 innings rank sixth and her 23 starts are tied for ninth… In addition, her 2.60 ERA is ninth-best ever by a Retriever freshman and her 34 appearances set a freshman record, while her 23 starts and 164.0 innings rank third among all-time UMBC rookies… Named America East Rookie of the Week on March 17 after going 2-2 with a 2.47 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 22.2 innings of work, holding opponents to a .210 batting average… Named to the UMBC Spring Classic All-Tournament Team (March 20-22) after going 2-2 with a 3.05 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 20.2 innings, holding opponents to a .220 batting average… Picked up her first career win after pitching three scoreless one-hit innings in relief against James Madison (Feb. 17)… Pitched back-to-back complete games against George Washington and Howard (March 4-12) but suffered the loss in both… Struck out eight Bison batters… Struck out seven batters in 4.1 scoreless innings of relief work to earn the victory against St. Francis (March 20)… Picked up a complete game victory against Mount St. Mary’s (March 21), striking out seven batters… Struck out eight batters in back-to-back games against Bucknell and Hartford (March 26-30)… Allowed just one run and four hits in 6.1 innings of work in the win over the Bison, then pitched her first shutout, a one-hitter against the Hawks… Gave up one run on three hits while striking out seven in a complete-game victory over Binghamton (April 9)… Allowed just two earned runs in 15.1 innings of work in three appearances against Stony Brook (April 12-13)… Gave up two runs in a complete-game loss in the second game of the doubleheader, then returned the next day to pitch a two-hitter, allowing just one unearned run while striking out five… Struck out a career-high nine batters in 5.2 innings against Boston U. (April 19)… Struck out eight batters in back-to-back games against Binghamton (April 23) and Vermont (April 26)… Allowed just one earned run in 13.0 innings in those two games, including a three-hit shutout against the Bearcats…  Picked up back-to-back complete-game victories against Delaware (April 30) and Maine (May 3) with 10 strikeouts… Recognized on the America East Academic Honor Roll.

Background: A four-time All-County selection by the Maryland Gazette and a three-time All-Metro pick by the Baltimore Sun, including First Team in 2006, when she went 12-3 with a 0.82 ERA and 158 strikeouts in 102 innings… Named team MVP all four years of high school… Led the Cavaliers to two straight IAAM titles… Pitched a shutout in the 2006 conference semifinals and a four-hitter in the championship game… Selected to play in the 2007 Old Line Classic All-Star Game… Led her travel ball team to fifth place at nationals three years in a row… A member of the National Honor Society and the Principal’s Honor Roll… Daughter of Charlene and Steve Weigman… Born June 26, 1989… A pre-physical therapy major.
