2009: Started 39 of 50 games played, seeing time at third base and in right field… Batted .294 with 30 hits in 102 at-bats… Ranked third on the team with a .390 on-base percentage, fourth with five home runs and a .490 slugging percentage and fifth with 14 walks… Also scored 18 runs and posted five doubles and 14 RBI… Batted .422 in America East games, the third-best mark in the league… Hit four of her five homers and drove in 11 runs against conference opponents… Also ranked second in the America East with an .800 slugging percentage and fourth with a .469 on-base percentage in league games… Batted .321 (9-for-28) with runners in scoring position… Hit doubles in all three games against Maine, going 4-for-6 in the series (March 28-29)… Homered in consecutive games against Albany (April 10-11)… Blasted the game-tying round-tripper in the seventh in the series finale against the Great Danes… Batted .500 (12-for-24) and slugged .833 during an eight-game hitting streak (April 18-May 2)… Had hits in 13 of 14 games from April 8-May 2, raising her average from .237 to .312 during that stretch… Had a season-high three hits in the first game of the Vermont doubleheader (April 18)… Picked up a season-high three RBI in the first game of the Stony Brook doubleheader (April 25)… Recognized on the America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

 

2008: Started 40 of 52 games, primarily at third base… Batted .211 with 23 hits in 109 at-bats… Led the Retrievers and ranked sixth in the America East with 10 doubles… Tied for sixth-most doubles ever by a Retriever sophomore… Ranked fifth on the team with 16 RBI… Posted six multi-hit games and four multi-RBI games… Opened the season on a four-game hitting streak, batting .333 (5-for-15) with three RBI and two doubles at the UNC-Greensboro Spartan Classic (Feb. 16-17)… Hit three doubles and drove in two runs in two games at the George Washington Colonial Classic (March 2)… Collected two hits each in three out of four games against Binghamton and Stony Brook (April 9-12)… Also drove in five runs and homered twice in that stretch… Recognized on the America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

 

2007: Played in 36 games and made 32 starts, primarily at third base, but also played six games in the outfield… Batted .167 with five hits in 30 at-bats… Hit a three-run homer against Maryland in her first collegiate at-bat (March 13)… Recorded hits in her first three games with at-bats, going 3-for-9 with a homer, four RBI and a run from March 13-19… Hit a two-run double against Sacred Heart in the UMBC Spring Classic (March 23).

 

Background: Named 2006 Western New York Player of the Year by the Niagara Gazette… A first team All-Western New York selection by the Buffalo News… Named the Niagara PAL Female Prep Athlete of the Year… Hit .413 with four home runs, four triples, seven doubles and 15 RBI as a senior… Helped lead the Wolverines to the Niagara Frontier League Championship… Also a standout in tennis and basketball at Niagara Falls High School… Earned First-Team All-League singles and Fourth-Team All-Western New York doubles as a four-year member of the varsity tennis team and is her school’s all-time wins leader… Also a Second-Team All-League selection as a three-year member of the varsity basketball team… A member of the National Honor Society, a four-year Honor Roll student and a class officer… Daughter of Linda and Frank Thompson… Has two brothers, Jeff and Matthew, and two sisters, Courtney and Amanda… Born Aug. 24, 1988… An interdisciplinary studies major with a focus in sports marketing.
