2009: Started 47 of 52 games played, primarily at first base and designated player… Ranked third on the team with a .304 batting average and 41 hits… Also slugged .400 with 54 total bases and held a .347 on-base percentage… Recorded seven doubles, two homers, 20 RBI and 10 runs… Struck out just 11 times in 135 at-bats, ranking second in the America East with 0.21 strikeouts per game… Had four hits in six at-bats with the bases loaded… Batted .362 (17-for-47) with two outs… Posted 11 multi-hit games and a pair of six-game hitting streaks… Batted .588 (10-for-17) during the first streak from Feb. 24-March 8… Had four straight multi-hit efforts during that stretch… Earned All-Tournament Team honors at the UMBC Dawg Pound All-Tournament Team after batting .438 (7-for-16) in five games (March 6-8)… Clubbed a double in three straight games from March 15-17… Selected to the UMBC Spring Classic All-Tournament Team after batting .500 (7-for-14) with a double, a homer, three RBI and three runs scored in five games (March 20-22)… Smashed a grand slam in the second game of the Morgan State doubleheader and finished with a career-high five RBI (April 2)… Had four hits in six at-bats in the Hartford doubleheader as the Retrievers clinched their fourth-straight berth in the America East Championships (May 2).

2007: Played in 25 games and made seven starts, primarily in right field… Batted .357 with 10 hits in 28 at-bats… Named to the America East All-Rookie Team… Hit her only home run of the season, a three-run shot, in her only at-bat in the second game of the Towson doubleheader (April 17)… Hit a two-run single in the first game of the Binghamton doubleheader (April 11)… Put together a four-game hitting streak from April 3-11, batting .800 (4-for-5) with three RBI during that stretch.

 

Background: A three-time Baltimore Sun All-Metro First-Team selection and a two-time All-County First-Team pick by the Maryland Gazette… Named MVP of her team as a junior and senior at Archbishop Spalding… Also earned All-County honors by the Sun as a freshman and sophomore at Mount de Sales Academy… An IAAM All-Star as a freshman and senior… Earned All-Metro accolades from the Washington Post in 2006… Helped lead Spalding to back-to-back IAAM championships in her two years with the Cavaliers… Batted .429 with 13 RBI and 13 runs scored as a senior… Hit for the cycle and had six RBI in a game in 2004 and was named Baltimore Sun Player of the Week…Also lettered in soccer in high school and was team MVP as a freshman… Daughter of Timothy and Carol O’Malley… Father played baseball at UMBC, and her uncle, Joe O’Malley, played for the Atlanta Braves… Has two younger brothers, Timothy and Brandon… Born May 3, 1988… A political science major who hopes to be a lawyer or politician.
