BACKGROUND: Led the state of Maryland in batting average two years in a row, hitting .622 as a junior and .633 as a senior… A four-time All-County honoree… Finished her high school career with 21 home runs… A two-time First-Team Upper Chesapeake Bay Conference All-Star… Named team MVP all four years… Led the Cobras to the 2005 conference title, going 3-for-3 with two triples and two RBI in a 3-2 victory… The all-time home run (34), slugging percentage (.776) and on-base percentage (.648) leader for her club team, the Churchville Lightning… Batted .500 in the 2005 World Series, leading the Lightning to a ninth-place finish out of 74 teams… Also an accomplished equestrian… A member of the National Honor Society at Harford Tech… Chose UMBC over Towson, Cornell, Delaware and Stevenson… Born Sept. 19, 1990… Daughter of Marc and Jeannine Mason… Has an older brother, Brandon, and a younger brother, Bryan… A biology/pre-veterinary major who hopes to be an equine veterinarian or an equine trainer.
