2008: Named to the America East All-Rookie Team after batting .261 with 37 hits in 142 at-bats… Played in all 54 games and made 50 starts, primarily in left field… Posted seven doubles, two triples, a home run, 17 RBI and 19 runs scored… Batted .284 in America East Conference games… Posted eight multi-hit games, including three three-hit efforts… Went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI against Niagara (March 15)… Batted .421 (8-for-19) with five RBI during a six-game hitting streak (March 21-26)… Went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and her first career home run, a three-run shot, in the second game of the Bucknell doubleheader (March 26)… Also went 3-for-3 against Binghamton (April 9) and Maine (May 3)… Scored a career-high three runs against the Bearcats.

 

Background:  Named the 2007 Capital District, Central Region and Richmond Times-Dispatch Metro Player of the Year… A four-time All-District player at Hanover High School, including First Team in each of the last three seasons… Also a three-time All-Region selection, including First Team as a junior and senior… Earned First-Team All-State and All-Metro honors in her last two seasons… Also garnered Honorable Mention All-Metro as a sophomore… Named Richmond Times-Dispatch Player of the Week twice… Led the Hawks to a 26-2 record and the 2006 Virginia state title pitching six one-hit innings and struck out five batters while going 2-for-4 at the plate in the 3-0 championship game victory… Also led the Hawks to the state finals in 2007… Batted .516 with 48 hits and 20 RBI while also going 19-1 with a 0.77 ERA and 166 strikeouts in 118.2 innings as a senior… Hit .400 and went 9-1 with a 0.46 ERA as a junior… Struck out more than 400 batters in her career… Selected to play in the Virginia High School Coaches Association All-Star Game and went 1-for-3 with a stolen base… Also was a competitive cheerleader in high school… Earned All-Academic honors as a junior and senior… Daughter of Tom and Deena Brummell… Has an older sister, Stephanie… Born June 27, 1989… A biology major who hopes to work in health care or diagnostic medicine.
