At Delaware State (2005-06): Hit .380 with four home runs, 11 doubles, three triples 36 RBI and 43 runs scored in 55 games in 2006… Also posted a 17-8 record with a 3.04 ERA and 129 strikeouts in 149.2 innings for the Hornets and pitched 14 complete games… A 2006 first team all Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference selection… Ranked among the MEAC leaders in most hitting and pitching categories as a sophomore… Named to the 2005-06 MEAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team… Batted .300 (15-for-50) with three homers and 11 RBI as a freshman… Also posted a 9-5 record with a 3.12 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 89.2 innings in 2005.

 

Background: Named Baltimore City/County Player of the Year by the Baltimore Sun in 2002, her only season at Institute of Notre Dame, after pitching every inning of every game, striking out an area-best 210 batters in 179 innings while only walking 29 and posting a 0.51 ERA with 10 shutouts… Set the IND school single-season records for wins, strikeouts, ERA and shutouts… Also hit .307 and slugged .440 with 16 RBI, four doubles and two home runs that season… A three-time first team all-Metro selection by The Sun and first team all-county selection by The Sun and the Maryland Gazette… Posted a 15-4 record with a 0.62 ERA and 162 strikeouts as a junior at Northeast High School, then followed that up with an 11-3 record, a 0.34 ERA and 162 strikeouts in 100 innings as a senior… Also hit .491 with 16 RBI and 13 runs scored in 2004… Led the Eagles to the Anne Arundel County co-championship and the Class 3A East region semifinals… Selected to play in the Old Line Classic Game, a high school senior all-star game, and hit the first-ever home run – a grand slam – in the eight-year history of the contest and was named MVP… Also lettered in basketball and soccer in high school and was an all-county second team honoree in soccer… Is a painter and is also writing two novels… Daughter of Michael and Donna Gray… Has three sisters, Michele, Erin and Lindsey… Born Nov. 27, 1986… An art education major who hopes to become an art teacher.
