Bill Gilbert begins his first year as a part-time assistant, in charge of the pitching staff. In addition, he will also assist French with the offense and defense, as he brings an extensive playing and catching background, both nationally and internationally.
Over the past year, Gilbert has coached at Monmouth University as a pitching coach. Prior to that, he worked at UNC-Pembroke from 2000-02, Catawba College from 1998-99, and Bellevue Junior College from 1994-96 and 1997-98. Moreover, Gilbert coached the Swedish National Team in 2000, and led them to the Scandinavian Championship.
Gilbert received his Bachelor's Degree from Purdue University in 1983. He is married, has two daughters, and maintains a permanent home in Harrisburg, North Carolina.
