A key recruit to this year’s lineup… Made a remarkable recovery from November knee surgery… Has won the starting second-base job in preseason practice as she brings great field awareness to our team… Also has an above average arm and can play SS if called upon… Will be the most vocal, “take-charge” infielder since Deanna Vecchio graduated in 2002… French feels that with her in the infield, he now has a strong leader, as she brings California Junior College experience to the club... Makes all the play that a middle infielder needs to make, and is working hard to improve her offensive game and makeup for her lost time due to her injury.
Background- Was a First Team All-Conference Selection and Second Team All-NorCal and JuCal athlete at Reedley… Was a four-time All-League selection and garnered the Defensive Player of the Year award every season in high school… Led her team to the Central Valley Conference championship… Also lettered in basketball and was on the Dean's List and Honor Roll… Daughter of Dan and Terri Underwood… Born on June 26, 1984… Intends to become a Physical Therapist.
