One of French's key recruits... Is one of the most versatile players to ever play for French, as she can play anywhere on the diamond... Will start in center field, first base, and catch throughout the early season... Hit an incredible .500 in fall ball and will most likely bat second in the lineup... Can bat almost anywhere in the lineup... A strong, quick player, she works hard everyday, and should be one of the top freshmen in the America East this year.
Background- Was voted her team's Most Valuable Player, and received First Team Suburban One League honors as a catcher during her senior year… Was a Second Team selection for the same award as a junior… Also lettered in basketball at North Penn and was a member of the National Honor Society… Considered Temple, but chose UMBC because she "liked the campus"… Daughter of Brad and Liz Shirk… Born on November 4, 1985… Intends to become a Physical Therapist.
