Broke into college softball with a bang as she posted the greatest power numbers in school history in terms of homeruns, extra base hits, RBI’s, and total hits as a freshman... She followed it up with an impressive sophomore year and has developed into a “go to” person and team leader as she has now taken her game to another level... The only current player left from French’s first season in 2001… A lifetime .361 hitter with 32 homeruns, 207 hits, and 145 RBI’s… French counts on her to have an outstanding senior season… Has stepped up her team leadership role this year.
2003- The Northeast Conference Player of the Year... Started all 62 games and posted a .387 batting average with 77 hits, which was fourth in the conference... Put up power numbers with nine doubles, 12 homeruns, and a .613 slugging percentage... Was also an asset at third base with 80 put-outs and 167 assists... Committed just 11 errors for a .957 fielding percentage.
2002- Was awarded NEC Rookie of the Week honors twice, and was selected as the 2002 NEC Rookie of the Year... Finished third on the team with a .349 batting average and a .536 slugging percentage... Received All-Regional First Team and Second Team All-NEC honors... Had nine doubles, and led the league in home runs (10), one being a solo shot in the NCAA Regionals. She also blasted two in the NCAA Play-In Championship game versus Bethune-Cookman to send UMBC to the NCAA’s... Posted 73 hits, good for fourth in UMBC history for a single season... Recorded 50 RBI’s in 209 at-bats.
