Surprised everyone last year by making the team as a walk-on, and developing into a very reliable reliever as a late-inning closer... Will be asked this year to be the team's closer and should also compete with Katie Jo Passero for the third spot in the starting rotation... Will be the main reliever early in the season following Nicholson and Sadowl... An athlete who is not afraid of anything, she is expected to be effective and a key part of the team this season.

2004- Made eleven appearances as a pitcher and batted in seven games… Allowed 24 hits in 22.1 innings of work, and finished the season with a 3.13 ERA… Struck out 18 batters, while only walking eight, and held opponents to a .270 batting average... Was impressive in her lone start, despite losing to Vermont.

Background- Received First Team All-County and Second Team All-Met as a senior... That year, she was also chosen as MVP and honored with the William Held Athletic Leadership Award... Was a First Team All-Metro and First Team All-County as a junior... In 2001, she was selected as Baltimore Sun Athlete of the Week (Pitcher), and was chosen MVP at the end of the season... Posted a 1.20 ERA as a freshman and was profiled by Fox 45...  Once pitched a shutout to hand Spalding HS its first loss after a 32-game win streak... Also considered Towson, Mount St. Mary's, and Villa Julie, but selected UMBC because she "liked the campus and friendly atmosphere"... Born on September 11, 1985... Daughter of George and Nadine Taylor... Undecided on her major.
