Will split the starting catcher position with Keenan... Needs to take charge behind the plate and as a defensive leader... Has shown rapid improvement since 2002, but needs to improve footwork, quickness, and arm strength... Offensively, has a good eye and makes good contact... French is hopeful that she can hit over .250 and drive in some big runs.
2003- Saw action in 11 games and went 1-for-7 with a double and a walk... Also had a sacrifice fly.
Personal- Had an outstanding career at Aquinas HS as she was named team captain and MVP during her junior and senior years... Recipient of the Scholar Athlete Award in 1997, 1999, and 2000... Once hit for the cycle in a game during her freshman year in high school... Also lettered in volleyball and basketball... Was selected to be the team captain at Monroe CC in 2001 and 2002... Daughter of Lou and Rose Sanfilippo... Born on March 21, 1982... Majoring in American Studies.
