NOTES: Closed out her career at UMBC ranked third in appearances (109), fourth in games started (71), fifth in innings pitched (460.4) and ninth in strikeouts (203) in the Retrievers’ record book… Also holds single-season marks at UMBC in games started (26, 2013) and appearances (33, 2013) (30, 2012).  

2013: Team co-captain… One of three Retrievers to start all 52 games, all coming in the middle infield… Led the team with 168 at bats, ranking 10th all-time among UMBC juniors… Second on the squad in doubles (eight)… Batted .300 with runners in scoring position… Tallied 11 multiple-hit and five multiple-RBI games on the season… Went a combined 5-for-8 with a double and two RBI in a pair of contests at the Jimmy John’s Lion Classic II (Feb. 15-16)… Recorded two extra-base hits, including her first home run of the season, and drove in two runs versus South Dakota (Feb. 16)… Registered back-to-back multi-hit games against UNC-Wilmington (Feb. 23) and Morgan State (March 1), combining for four hits and four runs scored… Tabbed four RBI on two hits against Saint Peter’s (March 3)… Went 3-for-4 from the dish versus Marist (March 11)… Moved to second base following the UMBC Dawg Pound Invitational (March 10-11)… Scored three runs and added a hit, walk and stolen base versus Morgan State (March 15)… Registered two hits in three at bats against Hampton (March 17)… Tallied a double in three straight games, starting with a three-run double in game two against Maine (March 23)… Recorded a pair of doubles in the series finale against the Black Bears (March 24)… Batted .500 (4-for-8) and drove in five of the Retrievers’ 10 runs in a doubleheader at Saint Peter’s (March 27), including four runs batted in during game one… Blasted her second home run of the season, a three-run shot to tie up the game against Georgetown (April 17)… Recorded doubles in back-to-back contests against Niagara (May 4-5) to close out the season... 2012: Made 20 starts in the circle… Appeared in 30 games, tied for ninth in UMBC’s single season record book… Tossed seven complete games and 121 innings… Recorded a 7-12 record with a 4.69 ERA… Second on the team in strikeouts (60)… Picked up her first win of the season, allowing one earned run in a complete game against Seton Hall (Feb. 18)… Surrendered one earned run on four hits in a complete game victory versus Canisius (March 2)… Tossed 2.2 hitless innings out of the bullpen at George Mason (March 20)… Struck out a career-high nine batters in a complete game win versus St. Peter’s (April 1)… Posted her seventh win of the year in seven frames against La Salle (April 14), allowing three earned runs and fanning six batters… Named to the America East Honor Roll.

2011: Posted a 5-5 record with a 3.90 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 80.2 innings of work… Made 24 appearances on the mound, including 10 starts… Best performance came in the second game of the La Salle doubleheader, when she allowed one run on three hits in seven innings… Tossed three straight complete games from April 26-May 7… Earned her first career save in the second game of the Temple doubleheader (March 22)… Struck out six batters in 6.2 innings of work in a win over Rhode Island (March 23)… Also recorded four hits in 32 at-bats and drove in three runs… Hit a three-run double against Morgan State (March 12)… Recognized on the America East Academic Honor Roll.

 

2010: Selected to the America East All-Rookie Team after posting a 9-7 record with a 4.31 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 99.0 innings of work… Tossed four complete games… Made 15 starts in 22 appearances… Her nine wins are tied for the 10th-most ever by a Retriever freshman, while her 22 appearances are tied for ninth… Did not commit an error in 34 chances… Also batted .130 with three hits in 23 at-bats and scored twice… Picked up a win in her first career appearance against Eastern Kentucky (Feb. 20)… Did not allow an earned run on seven hits over 8.2 innings in consecutive outings against USC Upstate and Morgan State (Feb. 21-March 6)… Struck out a career-high seven batters against the Bears… Smashed a home run for her first career hit and RBI against Brown (March 7)… Named America East Rookie of the Week on March 8 after picking up a pair of wins in as many appearances and posting a 1.56 ERA with 11 strikeouts to help lead the Retrievers to a UMBC Retriever Classic title (March 6-7)… Won her first four decisions from Feb. 20-March 9… Went 2-for-3 with her first career double and also tossed her first complete game against St. Joseph’s (March 19)… Allowed just one earned run on four hits in 6.1 innings of work in the series finale against Hartford (May 2).

 

BACKGROUND: A four-time All-County First Team selection… Led Anne Arundel County with 180 strikeouts in 2009… Posted a 17-6 record with a 0.92 ERA and 241 strikeouts as a junior… Tossed two no-hitters as a junior and two more as a senior… Earned First-Team All-Met honors from Digital Sportsand Second-Team All-Met from the Baltimore Sun and the Washington Post in 2009… Led the Eagles to the regional title and the state finals in 2007… Two-time team captain… Named team MVP as a senior… Won two Maryland state titles and two Virginia state championships with her travel squad… Also lettered in volleyball for two years at Northeast High School… A member of the National Honor Society… Daughter of Joe and Christine Brown… Has a younger brother, Joey… Born Jan. 12, 1991… A graphic design major.
