Four Retrievers Named to UMBC Retriever Classic All-Tournament Team

BALTIMORE, MD. – Senior Katie Ferguson (North East, Md./North East/Cecil CC), sophomores Caitlin Chance (Easton, Md./Easton) and Jessica Warner(Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown), as well as freshman Taylor Hall (Cosby, Md./Cosby) were named to the UMBC Retriever Classic All-Tournament Team, UMBC head coach Joe French announced on Monday.

In two appearances over the weekend, Ferguson picked up wins in both, throwing two complete games and striking out a total of 13 batters.  Against Niagara, the senior threw a one-hitter, while shutting out the Purple Eagles.

Over the weekend's four games, Chance, Warner and Hall combined 12 of the Retrievers 27 hits, while driving in nine combined runs.  Chance and Warner each hit a homerun for UMBC.

The Retrievers return to action on Thursday, when they travel to local rival Towson 2 p.m.
