2012: Did not see game action in 2012… Recognized on the America East Honor Roll.

2011: Had a breakout season, batting .279 with 34 hits and a team-best 10 home runs, which tied for third in the America East… Became the 14th Retriever ever with at least 10 home runs in a season... Led the Retrievers with a .582 slugging percentage and tied for second with 29 RBIs… Also recorded five doubles and a triple, scored 20 runs and walked 22 times for a .393 on-base percentage, third-best on the team… Saw action in 49 games and made 47 starts, primarily in right field… Batted .439 (3-for-7) with the bases loaded… Recorded seven multi-hit games and a team-best nine multi-RBI efforts, including four three-RBI performances… Batted .439 (18-for-41) with seven home runs, 14 RBIs and 11 runs scored in 14 games from March 18-April 7… That stretch included two six-game hitting streaks… Named to the UMBC Spring Classic All-Tournament Team after batting a team-best .583 (7-for-12) and slugging .917 with 11 total bases in four games (March 18-20)… Went 3-for-3 with two homers and three RBIs in the second game of the Maine doubleheader (March 26)… Was recognized on the America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

 

2010: Saw action in 12 games and made three starts… Batted .077 with one hit in 13 at-bats… Collected four RBI on the season… Picked up her first career RBI in her collegiate debut against Morgan State, then drove in another run in her first career start against Fairleigh Dickinson on the first day of the UMBC Retriever Classic (March 6)… Smashed a home run for her first career hit and also drove in a run with a sacrifice fly against Howard (March 17).

 

BACKGROUND: A four-time First-Team All-District and a three-time All-Area honoree… Earned All-State Second Team honors from the Richmond Times-Dispatch as a junior… Named to the All-Region First Team in 2007 and 2008 and to the All-Met Second Team in 2008 and 2009… Tabbed the Wolverines’ Best Offensive Player three times… Led North Stafford to the district championship and the second round of the regional playoffs, the farthest of any team in school history… Also a field hockey standout at North Stafford who holds the Virginia state record for saves in a game… Also lettered in basketball for the Wolverines… A four-time Academic Athlete at North Stafford… Chose UMBC over Towson, Delaware, Cornell and George Washington… Daughter of Ann Marie and Todd Scroggin… Has a brother, Nicholas… Her aunt, Erin West, played field hockey at Longwood, and another aunt, Colleen Thomas, played soccer at VCU… Born Dec. 30, 1991… A sociology major who hopes to become a police officer.
