2011: Selected to the America East All-Conference First Team and Louisville Slugger/NFCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region First Team after batting .340 with 51 hits, including eight doubles and eight home runs… Ranked second on the team and ninth in the America East in hitting… Drove in 29 runs, including 13 with two out, and tied for the team lead with 37 runs scored… Recorded 83 total bases for a .553 slugging percentage… Stole seven bases in 10 attempts and walked 14 times for a .409 on-base percentage, second-best on the team… Committed just four errors in a team-high 296 chances, primarily at first base, for a .986 fielding percentage… One of six Retrievers to start all 50 games… Recorded a team-high 15 multi-hit games, including five three-hit efforts, and eight multi-RBI performances… Batted .470 (8-for-17) during a five-game hitting streak from Feb. 26-March 1, with her first career three-hit game against Eastern Michigan on Feb. 27… Went 3-for-3 with a walk, a home run, three runs scored and two RBIs against Delaware (March 9)… Hit .526 (10-for-19) with eight RBIs and eight runs scored in five games from March 18-23… Went 3-for-5 with three RBIs, two runs scored and two steals against Morgan State (March 18)… Named to the UMBC Spring Classic All-Tournament Team after batting .467 (7-for-15) with a double, four RBIs, four runs scored and three steals in four games (March 18-20)… Went 5-for-9 with four runs scored and two RBIs in the Temple doubleheader (March 22), then followed up with a 2-for-2, two-run, three-RBI performance against Rhode Island (March 23)… Had another five-game hitting streak from March 26-April 3, going 8-for-18 (.444) with nine RBIs during that stretch… Had multiple RBIs in the first four games of the streak, including three in a 3-for-4 effort in the second game of the Stony Brook doubleheader (April 2)… Put together a third five-game hit streak from April 26-May 1, when she batted .467 (7-for-15) with seven runs scored, four RBIs and two home runs… Homered in both games of the La Salle doubleheader (April 26)… Recorded a career-high two doubles against Longwood (May 7)… Posted a 4-3 record and a 3.14 ERA with 27 strikeouts in 51.1 innings of work… Made seven starts in 15 appearances on the mound… Posted a career-high six strikeouts on two occasions – against Mount St. Mary’s (March 4) and Drexel (March 13)… Best outing came against Brown, when she allowed one earned run in a complete game (March 12)… Earned her first career save against Rhode Island, escaping a bases-loaded jam by striking out the final batter of the game to preserve a 4-3 win (March 23)… Named team co-MVP… Recognized on the America East Academic Honor Roll.

 

AT CECIL (2009-10): The 2010 Maryland Junior College Player of the Year and a Third-Team NJCAA Division II All-American… Led Cecil College to the 2010 NJCAA Division II World Series… Was also named to the all-conference team, as well as the NJCAA All-Region XX First Team… Posted a 17-3 record with a 1.24 ERA and 209 strikeouts in 130.0 innings as a sophomore… Her 209 strikeouts ranked third in all of Division II… Also batted .457 with 63 hits, nine home runs and 57 RBI in 2010… Team MVP in 2010.

 

BACKGROUND: Batted .462 with 27 RBI in 91 at-bats and also posted a 13-0 record with a 0.54 ERA and 101 strikeouts in 91 innings for the her travel team, the Churchville Lightning, which won the USSSA World Series in 2009… Also lettered in soccer, basketball and volleyball at North East High School… An honor roll student at North East… Was recognized on the President’s List at Cecil College… Member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society… Daughter of Sandra Ferguson… Has an older brother, Dustin, who plays baseball at UMBC… Also has two older sisters, Kara and Stacy… Stacy played softball at GoldeyBeacom College and Cecil College… Born Aug. 8, 1990… Majoring in sociology and minoring in biology… Hopes to become a pediatric oncologist.
