UMBC Athletics Unveils New Digital Media Guides, Additions to Website
BALTIMORE—UMBC Athletics is proud to announce a new partnership with Internet Consulting Services to produce SIDEARM Digital Media Guides for all 19 of its athletic teams.
The new digital media guides provide fans with a more interactive way to learn about their favorite Retriever teams, as they can literally flip through the pages and easily search for information on each athlete. The books also boast a dynamic table of contents which will take fans directly to any section.
In addition, seven of the digital media guides – volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s lacrosse, baseball and softball – will include “living stats,” which will update a player’s season and career statistics after each game, and athletes can be compared across seasons. The “living stats” also include yearly schedules with game-by-game statistics.
UMBCRetrievers.com also now features a “What’s New” ticker at the top of the website, which will scroll breaking news stories and other highlights. Each headline is linked to a story.
UMBC Athletics has also recently launched new social networking pages on Facebook and Twitter. Several Retriever coaches are also now “tweeting,” including head women’s basketball coach Phil Stern and head swimming and diving coach Chad Cradock.
Stern has also created a blog, PHILosophy, which will take Retriever fans behind the scenes of the women’s basketball program, and the Cross Country and Track and Field teams have a blog, as well. In addition, the UMBC Dawg Blog is back for its second season, as is the Retrievers’ YouTube page.
