2012: Named to the America East All-Conference Team after finishing seventh at the conference championships at New Hampshire’s College Woods… Also selected to the America East All-Academic Team… Helped lead the Retrievers to their best team finish at the conference meet, third-place, since winning the title in 2005… Led the Retrievers in five of the six races in which he competed… Set career-bests at the 5K, 8K, and 10K distances during the year, breaking the school record for the 5K (15:17.20) and 8K (24:45.65) races… Set the 5K standard at the season-opening Spider Alumni Open where he finished fourth overall… Broke the 8K record at the Princeton Invitational on Oct. 13 during a 16th-place finish… Led UMBC to a top-15 team finish at the 10K NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals by placing 41st with a personal-best time of 31:29.35, the second-fastest time in school history… Also earned top-20 finishes at the Navy Invitational and Princeton Invitational… Named to the America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
2011: Scored in each of UMBC's six meets and was the top-Retriever finisher four times, including at the America East Championships and NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals... Finished fourth at the Mount St. Mary's Duals in a school-record 5K time of 15:33.07... Placed 27th in a time of 25:25.48 at the conference meet and then led the Retrievers at the regional meet with a 32:11.20 to finish in 64th... Recognized on the America East Honor Roll.
2010: Scored in every meet, including first for the Retrievers at the Navy Invite, where he finished 17th in a season-best 8K time of 25:16.85… Also finished 17th at the season-opening Mount St. Mary’s Duals in a 5K time of 16:11.26… Placed 31st at the America East Championships, while finishing 59th at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships in a 10K time of 31:54… Recognized on the America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
Background: Named the Record Courier Athlete of the Year in 2010… Earned Academic All-Ohio team honors in cross country three years and in track and field twice… Earned All-Ohio honors twice in track and field and once in cross country… A four-year All-Metro honoree… Named Crestwood’s Most Valuable Player three times… Also lettered in swimming and soccer... Member of the National Honor Society… Won the Presidential Award for academics.
