UMBC Outdoor Track and Field Competes at Penn Invite Saturday

    Junior Britney Foreman finished fourth and sixth in the 100 and 200-meter dashes, respectively.

    PHILADELPHIA, Pa.--The UMBC outdoor track and field teams competed in the Penn Invite at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa on Saturday. The men's 4x100-meter dash team placed second in 42.18, while the women's relay team placed third in 48.30.

    Junior Adrian Arthur (Bowie, Md./Bowie) placed second in the men's 100-meter dash in an IC4A qualifying-time of 10.83. Junior Keith Brown (Columbia, Md./McDonough) earned bronze in the men's 110-meter hurdles in 14.94, while sophomore Victor Gilreath (Catonsville, Md./Western Tech/Maryland) placed second in the men's high jump with a mark of 1.98m (6'6").

    Some notable performances on the women's side were junior Britney Foreman (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake), who placed fourth in the 100-meter dash in 12.39 and sixth in the 200-meter dash in 25.59, and senior Kierra Gregory (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) who placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.82.

    The Retrievers return to action next weekend for the Virginia Invitational in Charlottesville, Va. on Saturday.
