2009-10 Indoor: Named to the CoSida/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America Cross Country and Track and Field Third Team after being honored on the All-District First Team… Earned gold in the heptathlon at the IC4A Championships with 5,232 points, the second-highest score in school history… Successfully defended his heptathlon title at the America East Championships with 5,216 points… Also took home bronze in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 7.65 and finished seventh in the pole vault (4.50m) at the conference meet… Set career-best marks in 11 indoor events, including all seven heptathlon measures… Part of the shuttle hurdles relay team that set a school record and won gold in 30.53 at the Gulden Relays… Named to the America East All-Academic Team in addition to the conference Honor Roll.
2009 Outdoor: Selected to the CoSida/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District II Men’s Track and Field/Cross Country First Team... Placed fifth at America East Championships in the decathlon with a score of 5,926… Recorded a season-best score of 6,029 in the decathlon at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational… Ran a season-best 15.18 in the 110-meter hurdles at the Maryland Invitational... Named to the America East Honor Roll.
2008-09 Indoor: Named America East Scholar-Athlete for indoor track and field... Earned gold in the heptathlon at the America East Championships with an IC4A-qualifying score of 4,884… Placed fifth at the IC4A Championships with a score of 4,977… Placed sixth in the 55-meter hurdles at the conference meet with a season-best time of 7.85… Named Most Valuable Athlete at UMBC’s varsity awards banquet in May.
2008 Outdoor: Placed second with an IC4A qualifying score of 6,286 points in the decathlon at the America East Championships after finishing first in the 400-meter dash, 110-meter hurdles, and pole vault events... Placed sixth in pole vault at the Colonial Relays... Finished 12th in the 110-meter hurdles at the Lou Onesty/Milton G. Abramson Invitational.
2007-08 Indoor: Placed first in the 60-meter hurdles and eighth in the 400-meter dash at the Patriot Games… Placed fourth in the pole vault at the Terrapin Invitational… Finished ninth in the 500-meter dash, 10th in the long jump and was part of the third-place 4 x 400m relay team at the Gulden Relays… Placed tenth in the heptathlon which included second-place finishes in the 60-meter hurdles and pole vault events at the Golden Flash Gala… Finished seventh in the 60-meter hurdles and was part of the 13th-place 4 x 400m relay team at the Bison Opener.
2007 Outdoor: Finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles and was eighth in the preliminaries of the 110 hurdles at the America East Championships, running best times of 15.35 and 55.30 in the prelims of both events…. Also competed in the pole vault and javelin throw at the Maryland Invite, recording season-best marks of 4.00m (13’1.50”) and 25.21m (82’8”), while posting a mark of 5.82m (19’1.25”) in the long jump at the Bucknell Heptagonal.
2006-07 Indoor: Finished fourth in the heptathlon, tied for 10th in the pole vault, and finished 11th in the 55-meter dash at the America East Championships… Amassed a total of 4,386 points for the heptathlon, recording season bests in the 55 (6.95), 55 hurdles (8.19), 1000 (3:07.04), pole vault (4.44m, 14’6.75”), and shot put (8.37m, 27’5.50”)… Also recorded season bests in the 60 hurdles (8.53) at the Patriot Games, in the high jump (1.76m, 5’9.25”) at the Lafayette/Rider Invite, and in the long jump (6.37m, 20’10.75”) at the Gulden Relays.
Background: The 2006 All-Baltimore City Performer of the Year from Archbishop Curleyin… Also named to the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association First Team in 2005 and 2006 and to the All-City, All-County and All-Metro teams in 2005 and 2006… Won the first-ever high school decathlon held in Maryland in 2005… Captained the 2006 Friars team to a conference championship… Friars finished the 2006 season as the No. 1-ranked team in the state by The Baltimore Sun.
Personal: One of four children to Martha and Charles Devaud… Has two sisters, Jacqueline, 25 and Gabrielle, 17 and one brother, Charles, 23… Charles graduated from UMBC formerly held the school heptathlon record… Majoring in mechanical engineering.. Born September 28, 1988.
