Men's Tennis Serves Up Fall Opener at Georgetown Invitational

    The UMBC men’s tennis team kicked off its fall campaign by competing in the Georgetown Classic on Sept. 24-25 in Washington, D.C.

    Senior Joe Adewumi (Phoenix, Ariz.) reached the quarterfinals after wins over players from UDC and Lehigh. He combined with freshman Daniel Gray (Bowie, Md./The Bullis School) to reach the finals of the doubles competition.

    Senior Cristian Hodel (Calarasi, Romania) and freshman Kamal Patel (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) each advanced one round in singles competition and paired together to reach the quarterfinals in doubles.

    UMBC will next compete at the Navy Invitational on Oct. 7-9 in Annapolis, Md.
