Men's Tennis Rebounds in 7-0 Shutout of Norfolk State

Baltimore – The UMBC men’s tennis team got back to its winning ways with a 7-0 shutout of Norfolk State in a match played on April 9 at the UMBC Tennis Complex.
After suffering its first back-to-back setbacks on the season, the Retrievers improved to 11-5 on the campaign, while Norfolk State fell to 5-13.
A sweep of the doubles play was highlighted by an 8-0 shutout at the No. 3 slot by sophomores Gaulthier Berret (Lagny Sur Marne, France) and Adam Duprat (Bobigny, France).
In singles, No. 1 Cristian Hodel (Calarasi, Romania/Boise State) rallied to defeat NSU’s Arsenio Culver, 3-6, 6-0, 6-4. The rest of the Retriever breezed in straight sets, as Berret dropped only one game in a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Kent Austin at the No. 5 position.
UMBC will host Temple on Monday, April 11 at 2:00 p.m.
