Voorman Reaches the Round of 32 at ITA Men's Atlantic Regionals

Senior Fredi Voorman (Talinn, Estonia) advance to the round of 32 in the ITA Men’s Atlantic Regionals, held at Old Dominion University. 

Voorman defeated Liberty’s  Louis Steyn, 6-4, 6-2, and ousted William & Mary’s Richard Wardell, 7-6 (5), 6-3 to advance. However, Virginia Tech’s Will Beck eliminated Voorman, 6-4, 6-0.

Sophomore Joe Adewumi (Phoenix, Ariz.) also won his first round match, edging Tommi Nissinen of James Madison, 6-3, 7-5. But Adewumi fell to Jason Lee of Penn State, 6-2, 6-1 in the second round.

All three UMBC doubles teams advanced to the second round, but were ousted before reaching the round of 16.
