Tennis Teams Split With Boston University

The men took the doubles point, then won five of six singles matches to secure the victory. Sophomore No. 1 singles seed Chris Meyer (New Market, Md.) split sets with Boston’s Gulio Gallarotti, 4-6, 6-3, but captured the deciding set convincingly, 6-0. Sophomore No. 5 Logan Bricker (
“It was a good match for us to win,” head coach Keith Puryear said. “I thought that we kept our composure in tough conditions and fought hard today. Every conference match has a lot riding on it. I thought that we handled the conditions today with aplomb.”
The women, playing with two freshmen and two sophomores in the starting lineup, faced the Terriers in a rematch of last year’s America East title match. Junior Joy Adewumi (
“I felt that it was a great to have our first match against the defending America East champs.” Puryear said. “It was a good test for us. I saw definite promise. If we can continue to do the things we need to do to continue to improve, we are going to be a very good team.”
