Swimming and Diving Sweeps Drexel, Howard Saturday

McKenney was one of seven Retrievers to win each of their two individual events, taking both the 50-yard freestyle and the 200 backstroke. Senior Rebecca Godwin (Catonsville, Md./Notre Dame Prep) earned gold in the 200 free and the 200 breaststoke, while sophomore Tara Morrissette (Somersworth, N.H./Saint Thomas Aquinas) won the 200 butterfly and the 200 IM.
On the menís side, senior Eric Jones (Gambrills, Md./Arundel) won the 50 free and 100 fly, while fellow senior Brad Reitz (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) took home the 200 free and 200 IM crowns. Junior John Mendenhall (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) swept the 100 and 200 breast events, while freshman Reed Neuendorf (Blauvelt, N.Y./Tappan Zee) won the 500 and 1,000 free.
Other individual winners on the womenís side were seniors Danielle Cruz (Catonsville, Md./Western Tech) and Ryan in the 100 and 500 free, respectively, sophomores Amy Fay (Haverhill, Mass./Haverhill) and Jennifer Kotonias (Burtonsville, Md./Academy of Holy Cross) in the 1,000 free and 100 fly, respectively and Moorby and Tadena won the 100 back and 100 breast, respectively.
Junior Nour Saad (Columbia, Md./Oakland Mills) won the 200 back, while sophomores Pierre De Waal (Pretoria, South Africa/Tuks Sport/Cleveland State) and Steve Gallagher (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) won the 200 fly and 100 free. Freshman Johan Rohtla (Tallinn, Estonia/Tallinn Secondary Science) won the 100 back.
On the diving boards, senior Amanda Shinholser (Burtonsville, Md./Springbrook) took second in the 1-meter with 223.10 and third in the 3-meter with 199.20, while sophomore Andrew Eckhoff (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) earned silver in the 1-meter with 260.60 and bronze in the 3-meter with 257.25.
The Retrievers are off next weekend before hosting Marist on Saturday, Jan. 22 at noon for senior and alumni day.
