Freeman Named to the CoSida/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District II At-Large First Team

    Junior Keilan Freeman

    BALTIMOREUMBC men’s swimming and diving junior Keilan Freeman (Calgary, Alberta, Canada/Argyll Centre) has been named to the 2010 CoSida/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District II At-Large First Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America Thursday.

     

    Freeman will now receive consideration for Academic All-America honors from CoSida/ESPN The Magazine’s Academic All-America® program. He was one of ten men in District II to earn first team all-district honors.

     

    The sports in the at-large category include: Women's Bowling; Women's Crew; Men's and Women's Fencing; Women's Field Hockey; Men's and Women's Golf; Men's and Women's Gymnastics; Men's and Women's Ice Hockey; Men's and Women's Lacrosse; Men's and Women's Rifle; Men's and Women's Skiing; Men's and Women's Swimming; Men's and Women's Tennis; Men's Volleyball; Men's and Women's Water Polo; and Men's Wrestling.

    Freeman was part of the 800-yard freestyle relay team that broke the UMBC and America East Championship record for the third-straight year at the 2010 America East Swimming and Diving Championships. He also finished ninth in the 200 back and the 400 IM and 10th in the 200 free at the conference meet. An outstanding student, Freeman has a 4.00 GPA in mechanical engineering.
