Gliese Breaks Danish National Record at Swim England Summer National Meet

SHEFFIELD, England - UMBC swimming and diving senior Alexander Gliese (Columbia, Md./Long Reach) broke the Danish national record in the 200 back this weekend at the Swim England Summer National Meet in Sheffield, England.

Gliese, who competes for the Danish national team, broke his own record in the event with a time of 2:00.49.  Last year, Gliese broke the record at the arena Pro Swim Series Santa Clara in a time of 2:01.31.

While at the National Meet, Gliese also took first place in the 50 back with a time of 25.96 and the 100 back in a time of 55.61.
