NORFOLK, Va. – The UMBC men's and women's swimming and diving teams have been named College and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-Americans, the association announced Tuesday.
The men and women were part of the 710 teams to earn the distinction for the Spring 2018 Semester. The Retriever men earned a team GPA of 3.41, which ranked 11th in the nation, posting 13 term GPAs above a 3.6 and five swimmers earning a 4.0. The women's team saw a 3.39 team GPA, with 15 GPAs above a 3.6 and nine swimmers earning a perfect 4.0.
For a team to be considered, it must have a minimum 3.0-grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
