CCSA Release

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – UMBC senior Tim Perkins (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) has been selected as the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Male Diver of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Perkins earns his first-ever conference weekly honor after picking up his first career dual meet win this past Friday in UMBC's meet with Navy.  The senior scored a season-best 278.55 en route to besting the field in the 3-meter event.  Perkins also took second-place in the 1-meter competition with a season-best score of 258.97.

The award is the second in two weeks for the Retrievers who joined the CCSA this season after competing for the last ten seasons in the America East.  Following the second week of competition, senior Mohamed Hussein (Cairo, Egypt/Victory College) was named the league's Male Swimmer of the Week (10/16/13).

UMBC hosts its second dual meet in an eight-day span when the Retrievers welcome George Washington to the UMBC Aquatic Complex on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
