UMBC men’s soccer coach Pete Caringi has announced that three additional prospective student-athletes – Kadeem Dacres, Michael DiCesare and Corbin McCarron - have committed to attend the university and compete for the Retrievers in the fall of 2011.

Dacres most recently attended Mercer County (N.J.) Community College and was cited as a 2010 NSCAA Junior College First-Team All-American. The 5’10”, 155-pound forward/attacking midfielder scored 14 goals and added six assists during his two-year tenure at MCCC and was the Region 19 Player of the Year this fall. The resident of Rosedale, N.Y. has competed for the U-15, U-17 and U-18 United States national team and for Met Oval in the U.S. Development Academy.

DiCesare just earned NSCAA Academic All-America honors after a stellar career at St. Francis DeSales (Ohio) High School. Moreover, the wide midfielder from Columbus, Ohio was named to the All-Region IV, Division II All-State, All-District and All-Conference first teams. He captained the team in 2009 and 2010 and led the Stallions to the 2009 Division II state title. DiCesare competes for the Columbus Crew in the U.S. Development Academy and the National Honor Society member is considering a pre-pharmacy major at UMBC.

McCarron is the younger brother of former Retriever Brendon McCarron (2007, 2008) and UMBC rising senior defender Jason McCarron. The midfielder/fullback earned First Team All-State and All-County honors for Arundel High School. The Odenton, Md. native led the Wildcats to an undefeated county championship and competes for the Maryland Rush (Bowie, Md.).

This trio joins three Maryland natives - Zach Wenger, Joe Glos and Nick Liberto – who signed national letters-of-intent last month.
