RETRIEVERS RECORD A PAIR OF SHUTOUTS IN SCOTLAND

The UMBC men's soccer team won two and lost two in its recently completed pre-season trip to Scotland. The Retrievers blanked St. Mirren FC, 3-0, and Queens Park F.C., 2-0, and fell to Dundee United F.C., 5-0, and Hearts F.C., 7-3.Newcomers Marco Angelini and Marcus Gross led UMBC with a pair of goals each, while freshman Powell Cucchiella, sophomore George Bakoulas, and junior Michael Joseph added a goal apiece. The Retrievers open the season on Friday, August 30 when they host Hofstra in the opening round of the Kappa Kick Off Classic.
