Andrew Bulls Shares America East Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week Honors

UMBC freshman forward/midfielder Andrew Bulls (Millersville, Md./McDonogh) has been named America East Conference Men’s Soccer co-Rookie of the Week for games ending Sept. 28, 2008. Bulls has earned or shared the award in three of the first five weeks of the season.

Albany’s L.J. Papaleo shared the award with Bulls.

Bulls continued his torrid scoring as host UMBC (5-2-1) held off Mount St. Mary’s, 2-1 at UMBC Soccer Stadium on Tuesday. He got UMBC on the board in the 15th minute, scoring for the third time in the last three outings. It was Bulls’ fifth goal of the season and UMBC’s last four goals had come from the first-year player. His current total of five goals on the season ties Andrew Gillis’ team-high five goals for the entire 2007 season.

UMBC opens America East Conference play at Maine (3-4-1) on Saturday at noon.
