Men's Soccer Shuts Down, LaSalle, 1-0

—UMBC freshman forward Andrew Bulls (Millersville, Md./McDonogh) scored the game’s lone goal midway through the second half as UMBC (4-2-1) blanked visiting Bulls capitalized on one of the few dangerous chances that either side was able to create. Sophomore midfielder Dustin Dzwonkowski ( UMBC had a chance to add to the lead as Retriever senior netminder Steve King ( Richter led all players with four shots in the contest. Bulls recorded three for the home team. UMBC played without starters Kevin Gnatiko, Jovan Petrovic, Andrew Gills and Shondell Busby, who are all dealing with injuries. The Retrievers are now 6-1-4 in that stretch in their last 11 home contests. UMBC also improved to 4-1 all-time vs. UMBC continues the three-game homestand on Tuesday, when they entertain Mount St. Mary’s.
