Men's Soccer Heads to Top-Seeded Binghamton for America East Semifinals

11/13/2007

  • America East Semifinal Notes, '07

For the first time in five America East Conference seasons, the UMBC men's soccer team has advanced in the league championship tournament and will now take on top-seeded Binghamton in the league semifinals. Kick-off is set for 2:00 p.m. in Vestal, N.Y. The fifth-seeded Retrievers earned the trip to Binghamton by virtue of a 5-4 advantage in penalty kicks after a 1-1 double overtime draw at fourth-seeded Hartford on Saturday. In 2003 and 2005, UMBC had a bye into the semis, but fell at home to Northeastern (1-0, 2003) and Binghamton (4-1, 2005).
