UMBC senior soccer players Kevin Mezzadra (Fallston, Md./Loyola-Blakefield) and David Feazell (Bel Air, Md./Fallston) were both selected in the Major Indoor Soccer League’s Entry Draft, held on March 8 via a league conference call.
Mezzadra was a first-round (territorial) selection of the Baltimore Blast, who had the seventh selection of the eight teams in the league. The versatile Mezzadra earned 2006 NSCAA Men’s Division I All-Northeast Region Third Team honors. He had been named to the America East Conference Men’s Soccer First Team, his third honor by the conference in four years. He earned All-Rookie team status in 2003 and was named to the Second Team in 2005. Despite playing in the midfield and even in the back in several league games, Mezzadra was finished tied for second in the conference in scoring with nine goals and 20 points. He finished his UMBC career with 19 goals and 46 points.
Feazell was a fifth-round selection of the Blast’s rival, the Milwaukee Wave. Feazell, a forward/midfielder, finished second on the team with 15 points (6 goals, 3 assists). He amassed 15 goals and nine assists (39 points) in his four-year career.
