Mezzadra Scores in Overtime, Giving Men's Soccer a 2-1 Win at Maine

Orono, Maine—Senior Kevin Mezzadra’s second goal of the game, 34 seconds into the second overtime period, lifting visiting UMBC (4-7-3, 1-2-2) to a 2-1 victory over Maine (0-14-0, 0-4) in America East Conference play.
Mezzadra, who did not play in Wednesday’s 2-0 loss at Stony Brook due to the accumulation of five yellow cards, now has nine goals on the season.
He scored UMBC’s first goal in the 25th minute of play, as he positioned himself at the post knocked in David Feazell’s corner kick. The Retrievers dominated play in the first 45 minutes, outshooting the Black Bears, 10-1, but could not extend the 1-0 margin.
