MEN'S SOCCER BATTLES HOWARD TO SCORELESS DRAW

Baltimore, MD—The UMBC men’s soccer team (7-5-3) battled Howard University (3-7-3) to a 0-0 double overtime draw in a non-conference contest at UMBC Soccer Stadium.

UMBC outshot Howard, 6-2, in the first half, and its best chance occurred when a Powell Cucchiella attempt was cleared off the line by a Howard defender. Both Osit and Howard netminder Jason Williams were tested several times in the second half, as the Retriever freshman finished the game with four saves and Williams repelled seven for the Bison. UMBC outshot HU, 17-8, for the game and had 9 corners to a pair for the Bison.
Cucchiella had five shots for UMBC, while Howard’s Jonnie Bess recorded a team-high three for Howard. It is the first draw in the series, with UMBC leading
