ALUM CELENZA IS SELECTED TO U.S.A. NATIONAL FUTSAL TEAM
Giuliano Celenza was this year's MISL All Star game Most Valuable Player
UMBC alum Giuliano Celenza has been selected to the U.S. Futsal National Team as Head Coach Keith Tozer announced his 17-man training camp roster. The U.S.A. team will face Honduras in a two-game Preliminary Round CONCACAF Qualifier on May 18 and 20 at U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee, Wis. The winner of the aggregate goal series will advance to the eight-team CONCACAF Final Qualifying Tournament, which will be played in Costa Rica during the last two weeks of July and will determine the regionís two participants in the FIFA Futsal World Championship in Chinese Taipei from Nov. 21 - Dec. 5.
Celenza will be accompanied by other Baltimore Blast players Scott Hileman, Danny Kelly, and Lee Tschantret. The Blast just won their second consecutive MISL crown. Other UMBC alumni Jason Dieter (assistant coach) Billy Nelson, Brian Rowland, and P.J. Wakefield helped the Blast win the crown.
