2007: Matriculated at the University of Virginia and made his first collegiate start in the sixth game of the season vs. Campbell on Sept. 19, a 2-1 Cavalier victory… Played in seven games and started six… Started all four of Virginia’s postseason games… Posted a 4-2-0 record and a 1.03 goals-against average… Recorded an assist in the Cavs’ 4-1 ACC quarterfinal win at N.C. State.
Background: Majoring in sociology… One of the Top 100 college prospects in the nation after a brilliant prep and early club career… Earned First Team All-Conference and All-State honors as a sophomore at Concord, averaging 15.7 saves per game… Captained his club team, Hockessin Blizzard and led that squad to its third consecutive regional tournament appearance… Captained and led Delaware ODP team to semifinals, where they lost to eventual champion Maryland… As a junior, he captained Steve Nichols’ Casa Mia Bays and led them to a regional and national title… Voted to the All-Tournament Team and earned the Golden Glove Award… As a senior in 2006-07, earned a slot in the national pool and competed for a spot on the national team… Heavily recruited by several ACC schools before deciding on Virginia… Helped his U-18 become the first U.S. Soccer Academy National Champions, and played in the nationally-televised title game…Earned All-Tournament team honors… Again led Casa Mia Bays to the nationals where they captured McGuire Cup… Has won four regional titles and three national titles during his tenure…Helped the Bays become the No. 1 club in the United States, as selected by Soccer America…An honor student throughout high school… Spent many holiday seasons at shelters, cooking for the homeless...
