Accolades: Named the team’s Most Improved Player in 2009… Earned Dean’s List honors in Fall, ’09 and Spring, ’10 semesters.

2009: The gritty defender started all 20 games and led UMBC with 1,698 minutes played (84.9 per game)… Named to the All-Tournament team of the adidas Kick-Off Classic… Was credited with an assist in UMBC’s 3-0 win at La Salle on Sept. 26.

2008: The Loyola transfer saw action in 12 games and started seven down the stretch in his first fall campaign for the Retrievers… Recorded an assist in the 1-0 win over Lipscomb… Displayed a blue-collar approach to his work in the Retriever backfield.

Background: Majoring in business technology... Transferred to UMBC after attending Loyola (Md.) College in the fall of 2007… Did not compete for the Greyhounds… A three-year letterwinner and two-time captain at Archbishop Curley... Led team to the MIAA Championship in 2006 ... Named All-City, All-Metro, All-State and All-MIAA in 2006 ... Also captained his club squad, Baltimore Bays ‘89, since 2004... Brother, Robert, played at Boston University and cousin,Mark, played at Towson University ... Also has younger brother Chris and two younger sisters, Kara and Dana ...
