Background: The center midfielder capped an outstanding prep career with a brilliant 2008 campaign for the 9-4-2 Patapsco Patriots… Scored 16 goals and added 12 assists and earned First-Team All-Metro (The Baltimore Sun) and First-Team All-State honors… He completed his four-year career with 42 goals and 30 helpers and was a three-time First-Team All-County selection… Captured a State Cup title with the Baltimore Bays in 2008… Also earned letters in baseball in 2006 and 2007… An excellent student, he was an AP Scholar in 2008-09 and a Maryland Distinguished Scholar (honorable mention) in 2009… Is considering a major in engineering… Coached by former Retriever Mike Griffith (1996-99) at Patapsco… Enjoys playing golf and lists favorite pro team as Manchester United… Has an older brother, Kevin, Jr., who is 20… Son of Beverly and Kevin Vaeth… David John Vaeth wa born on Aug. 3, 1991.
