Background: A transfer from Methodist (N.C.) College, who led the Monarchs in scoring last season… he scored seven goals and added two assists and earned USA South Conference all-league honors in ’06… also earned a conference “Player of the Week” award… posted a three-goal effort in a 3-2 win over Southwestern University… a member of the 2003 MIAA conference champions at Calvert Hall… also competed in track and field for the Cardinals and was a league finalist in the open 400 meters and the 100 meters… transferred to UMBC “because of [its] history of excellence in sports and education”… is considering a major in Biology/Pre-Pharmacy… older brother, Enobong, played football at Gilman and is a current senior at Maryland… younger sister, Ekaette is a junior at Mercy… plays the saxophone and lists his favorite movie as “Finding Nemo”… son of Cassandra and Thomson Umoh… Ime John Umoh was born on Sept. 21, 1988.
