Right fullback was named the team’s 2005 Unsung Hero by virtue of his nearly errorless brand of soccer...becoming more dangerous in serving balls.

2005-Started 18 games in the UMBC backfield last season...suffered an ankle injury and did not play at Vermont, a game which UMBC lost, 4-0...returned four days later vs. Navy and the Retrievers proceeded to allow one goal in the next five games...his deep service to Marcus Gross led to Kevin Mezzadra’s GWG vs. New Hampshire.

2004-Came on strong in the second half of the season, playing the right fullback slot...earned America East All Rookie Team honors...played in 15 games, starting the final 11 in the Retriever backfield...sparked UMBC’s 4-1 win over Maine with a pair of assists ...set up Matt Watson’s game winning goal in the 1-0 win in the finale vs. Hartford.

BACKGROUND: Earned First Team All Metro, First Team All County,  and First Team All State honors in both his junior and senior seasons…some of the area's most creative midfield work came from the talented senior, whose strong work rate and gifted ball skills helped carry the Mavericks (10-3-2) to the Class 2A state semifinals…despite seeing extra defensive marks, he finished his senior season with 18 goals and 11 assists and completed his career with 48 goals and 21 assists…he was a member of 2003 Region 1 Champion and National Finalist Baltimore Bays…also lettered in baseball, where Eastern Tech won two straight regional titles…earned honor roll status in all four quarters of his senior year and participated in ETHS's Student Governement Association…nicknamed "Lil' B"…considering a major in Interdisciplinary Studies and a possible career in forensics…older brother, Matthew, played college soccer at Frostburg…considered joining Matthew at Frostburg, along with West Virginia, and Towson, but selected UMBC "because [UMBC] would offer me…a better background after I am finished school"…lists favorite professional team as D.C. United…son of Catherine and Peter Moffa…Bryan Louis Moffa was born June 24, 1986.
