The 2013 America East champion UMBC men’s soccer team will host 2013 national finalist Maryland in the Second Annual “Kicks For Chase” contest at Retriever Soccer Park on Friday, April 11. The kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m. The teams are raising funds to benefit children born with Down Syndrome in the memory of Chase Bugarin.

OKC Energy FC, an affiliate of MLS power Sporting Kansas City, is one of the newest members of the USL Professional Division.

UMBC head men’s soccer coach Pete Caringi has signed a contract extension through the 2018 season, Director of Athletics Tim Hall announced today. The Retrievers finished the 2013 campaign with the top winning percentage in the nation (16-1-5, 84.1%).

Philadelphia - UMBC senior soccer standouts Pete Caringi III (Perry Hall, Md./Calvert Hall) and Kadeem Dacres (Rosedale, N.Y./Mercer County CC) were both selected in today’s Major League Soccer SuperDraft.Caringi, a forward, was selected in the third round by the Montreal Impact. He was the tenth selection in the round, and the 48th pick overall. The Chicago Fire tabbed Dacres with the eighth pick in the fourth round. The midfielder was the 65th overall selection.

Men's Soccer Wraps Up Preseason With 1-0 Win over American
BALTIMORE- Junior Geaton Caltabiano (Lothian, Md./Mount St. Joseph) scored four minutes into the contest and the UMBC defense made the goal stand up as the Retrievers blanked American, 1-0, in their final preseason tune-up on August 23 at Retriever Soccer Park.
