  • Men's Lacrosse Opens America East Play at Home Versus Stony Brook on Sunday
    March 16, 2018
    For the second consecutive year, the UMBC men’s lacrosse team (2-4) opens America East Conference play by taking on the Stony Brook Seawolves (1-5). This year’s contest takes place at UMBC on Sunday, March 18 with an opening face-off slated for noon. Gary Stein will have all the play-by-play for the America East digital network. 
  • Men’s Lacrosse Falls at No.10 Johns Hopkins

    Steven Zichelli (Severna Park, Md.) and Ryan Frawley (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) each scored twice, but #10 Johns Hopkins was too much for the UMBC Men’s Lacrosse team in a 13-6 Blue Jay victory on Tuesday night at Homewood Field.

  • Andrews and Nolan Pace Men's Lacrosse Offense in 7-4 Victory Over Marist

    Junior Jack Andrews (Arnold, Md.) scored three goals, and classmate Billy Nolan (Crofton, Md.) got two more as the UMBC men’s lacrosse defeated Marist, 7-4, on a cold Saturday night at UMBC Stadium.
  • Men's Lacrosse Returns Home to Face Marist in Saturday Evening Contest

    The UMBC men’s lacrosse team returns home for the first time in a month on Saturday, March 10, as the Retrievers host the Marist Red Foxes. The opening face-off from UMBC Stadium takes place at 7:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on the America East Digital Network.  
  • Patschorke, O'Hara Lead Retriever Effort in Narrow 8-6 Loss at Towson

    Towson, Md.  – Freshman Trevor Patschorke (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) posted his first collegiate three-goal game, and UMBC (1-3) led host Towson (2-3) after three quarters, but the Tigers came away with an 8-6 victory in chilly, blustery conditions at Johnny Unitas Stadium.
  • Men's Lacrosse Completes In-State Road Swing at Towson in Saturday Matinee

    The UMBC men’s lacrosse team (1-2) completes a three-game, in-state road swing when they make the short trip to Towson to face on the Tigers on Saturday, March 3. The opening face-off from Johnny Unitas Stadium takes place at noon and the game will be broadcast on the Towson Sports Network.
  • Explosive Mount St. Mary's Scores 16-7 Win over Men's Lacrosse

    Emmitsburg – Host Mount St. Mary’s (1-3) broke open a close game early, scoring five first half straight goals and going on to a 16-7 victory over UMBC (1-2) in damp, chilly conditions at Waldron Family Stadium.

    The UMBC men’s lacrosse team (1-1) heads about 50 miles northwest on Friday, Feb. 23, when they renew the rivalry versus Mount St. Mary’s (0-3) in Emmitsburg.  The opening face-off at Waldron Family Stadium is set for 3:00 p.m. and the game will be streamed on NEC Front Row.
  • Men's Lacrosse Drops Tough 7-5 Decision at Navy

    ANNAPOLIS – Host Navy (1-2) outscored UMBC (1-1), 7-3, in the middle 30 minutes of play and edged the Retrievers, 7-5, in snowy conditions at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium.
  • Men's Lacrosse Starts Three-Game Local Road Swing at Navy on Saturday

    The UMBC men’s lacrosse team (1-0) starts a three-game road swing – although all three contests are in the state of Maryland – on Saturday, Feb. 17 when they make the short trip to Annapolis, Md. to take on the Navy Midshipmen (0-2). The first meeting between UMBC and Navy since 2003 takes place at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium at 1:30 p.m.
  • Lingner, Zichelli Earn #AEMLAX Weekly Honors

    BOSTON – Goalkeeper Tommy Lingner (Fort Salonga, N.Y./St. Anthony’s) and midfielder Steven Zichelli (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) were tabbed America East Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively for games ending February 11.
  • Nolan, Freshmen Pace Men's Lacrosse to 9-6 Upset Over No. 20 Richmond

    BALTIMORE – UMBC held 20th-ranked Richmond scoreless for over 35 minutes and scored six goals in that span to erase a 5-2 deficit and defeat the Spider, 9-6, in the opener for both teams. The game was played in a steady, chilly rain on the turf at UMBC Stadium.
  • Men's Lacrosse Opening Day Notebook: Retrievers Open '18 Campaign at Home on Saturday vs. No. 20 Richmond

    The UMBC men’s lacrosse team opens its 2018 season on Saturday, Feb. 10 when they host the Richmond Spiders. Game time at UMBC Stadium is set for 1:00 p.m. and the game will be streamed via the America East Conference digital network with Gary Stein on the call.
  • Coach Moran Announces 2018 UMBC Men's Lacrosse Schedule; Hopkins Game Moved to Homewood on March 13

    UMBC head men's lacrosse coach Ryan Moran announced the team's 2018 spring schedule in early December. The Retrievers play six of 13 games at UMBC Stadium, including first-time visitor Michigan and No. 4 pre-season and defending America East champion Albany. 
  • Men's Lacrosse Selects Four Captains for 2017-18 Academic Year

    BALTIMORE - The 2017-18 UMBC men’s lacrosse team has selected seniors Billy O’Hara (Davidsonville, Md./South River) and John Tornabene (Havre de Grace, Md./Archbishop Curley) and juniors Jason Brewster (San Diego, Calif./Valley Center) and Gunnar Schimoler (Edgewater, Md./South River) as its team captains for the academic year.
  • UMBC Men's Lacrosse Kicks Off Lax Stache Madness Campaign

    Earlier this week, a significant number of the UMBC men’s lacrosse players and coaches tossed their razors away and to begin Lax Stache Madness for the HeadStrong Foundation. Lax Stache Madness organizers are looking to ignite the philanthropic spirit of the lacrosse community and raise more $200,000 this year to commemorate the 200,000 American families that will be shattered by the news of cancer diagnosis over the duration of the campaign.
