Kyle Wimer Earns Second USILA All-America Citation

5/27/2010

For the second consecutive year, UMBC midfielder Kyle Wimer (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) has been named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-America squad.

The senior earned honorable mention honors after leading the Retrievers this season with 35 points. He was also tabbed to the honorable mention squad after the 2009 campaign when he amassed 42 points on the nation’s top midfield unit.

Wimer becomes the tenth player in school history to earn multiple All-America citations at the NCAA Division I (1981) level.

Wimer, one of ten finalists for the Lowe’s Senior Class Award in the sport of men’s lacrosse, completed his career at UMBC with 69 goals and 64 assists and his 133 career points currently ranks 15th in school history. He earned America East All-Conference First-Team honors in 2009 and 2010.
