Nick Doub Named America East Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week

Cambridge, Mass.--UMBC freshman midfielder Nick Doub (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary’s) has been named America East Conference Men’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for games ending April 11, 2010.
Elevated to the first midfield line, Doub scored his first career goal, a man-up goal late in the third quarter at Towson on April 7. He then scored a pair of unassisted goals and added an assist in the 12-6 win over the Binghamton Bearcats on April 10. The former St. Mary’s standout was credited with the game-winning goal and all three of his points occurred in UMBC’s 7-0 run which gave the visiting Retrievers a 9-2 lead late in the third quarter.
UMBC is now 1-1 in the America East Conference and hosts league rival Albany (2-0) on Saturday evening at UMBC Stadium.
